Update regarding COVID 19

Thrive OTs are following NHS and UK GOV guidelines regarding COVID 19. We would like to reassure you that our therapists are washing hands before and if required during sessions. We will be leaving 15 minute breaks between clients to allow for a full clean, with soapy water, and wipe down, with disinfectant, of equipment.

All our staff are aware that the young people we work with are vulnerable and may be feeling anxious with the current media coverage. For that reason we have been posting social stories and videos over the last few days.

For our schools we will continue to visit up until that time either the school make a decision that outside visitors are deemed non essential or the government closes schools. At that point we will talk with schools to continue to provide therapy input and support where possible, particularly for our more vulnerable students.

We are also aware that young people will continue to need support and to that end we can offer access to your named occupational therapist by continuing visits to your child at home. We will phone first to confirm that both your therapist and your family are symptom free. However if you have decided on self isolation we can carry out video (Skype, FaceTime, Zoom) or telephone sessions and offer support via email.

Please take a look at our  Facebook Page Thrive OT and Sensory Stuck at Home a collaborative Facebook page for parents and carers, providing free access to resources by OTS for use during isolation.
