Having set up as a business in September 2010 with a vision to fill the gap in statutory services, and working with an associate model we now find ourselves twelve and half years later with a well established team of occupational therapists and support staff. And now to add to our list we are mentoring Independent Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapists running their own private practices.
How did we get here? How did we survive COVID19? What does our business model look like now? Who has supported us along the way? Why did we go from associate model to employers? And how do we ensure we have a great team of therapists?
It’s not all been down to good luck, it has been hard work. It has taken us down some blind alleys, and twists and turns. It has been a journey of discovering how to write a business plan, to question our vision for 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, to seek support on managing and leading our team.
We have learned how to host and run training workshops with overseas speakers. We have linked with local councils and authorities to provide occupational therapy in new and role emerging ways.

As a relatively new business, we wanted to talk through where we were up to and how to move forward.
