Claire worked and volunteered with Thrive OTS during her training at Northampton University and joined us when she qualified as an OT with a BSC(HONS)OT in 2017. Claire is HCPC registered and is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
Claire works across a range of specialist and mainstream school settings. Working to provide an embedded OT service within school settings; Claire works with children, parents and teachers to support participation in school through her work in mainstream and specialist schools. Claire has experience in postural support and specialist seating and equipment.
Claire has experience working ASD, ADHD, global developmental delay, dyslexia, DCD.
Claire has post graduate training in seating and postural management, DIR Floortime (201) and The Interoception Curriculum. Claire has completed M1 and M2 postgraduate modules in sensory integration and is working towards M3, CLASI Certification in Sensory Integration (WWW.ICEASI.ORG) and Sensory Integration Practitioner Status.
Claire has a specialist interest in seating and postural management and working to improve quality of life, function, and participation for children who experience low mobility.
Claire also enjoys working closely with Early Years Foundation Stage to promote the benefits of movement and developing core motor skills and postural control.
When she isn’t working, Claire has two children and a dog, who keep her on her toes. She enjoys long walks with the dog, reading, and going on holiday whenever possible!
